Welcome!
My name is Sophie Pumphrey, and welcome to my cookbook reviewing blog. I am in no way a professional cook, I am a “home cook” meaning that I cook homes (an arsonist). I also have had over a decade of experience in creating the “Looks weird tastes good” genre of cuisine and I would like to share it with the world.
What to expect…
- I will choose a cookbook willy nilly, spending little to zero dollars.
- From the books I will choose three recipes that I am attracted to. ideally it will be an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert or side. I will try to recreate them to the best of my ability.
- I will judge the directions of the recipes based off of my emotions while trying to follow them. (scared, disgruntled, jolly, and etc.)
- I will take a photo of my final product, and if there is a photo in the book, I will compare.
What not to expect…
- The recipes. I will give you the author and title of the book and force you to do the leg work.
- Professional level skill.
- Artistic food porn photos.
- Proper spelling and punctuation.
